“Delicious” Hits the Living Blues Chart and Satellite Radio

December 14th, 2010

A bluebird just told us that listeners of “B.B. King’s Bluesville” (Sirius/XM Channel 70) can hear tracks from “Delicious”. They are enjoying “Please Drive” with Hubert Sumlin on guitar and “Wild Women Don’t Have the Blues” (with Billy Gibson on Harmonica). You never know what they’ll play next, so stay tuned!

We continue to be thrilled with the many DJs, Podcasters, and Radio Music Program Directors who have embraced “Delicious” and have been broadcasting their favorite songs from the record all over the world! As a result, “Delicious” is making regular entries on the Roots Music Report (Blues Chart and NY Charts) and has also just been confirmed as debuting at #25 on the Living Blues Chart!

Living Blues is an amazing print publication that, in addition to fantastic photos, reviews and features, compiles and publishes a monthly radio chart that provides “the music industry with one of the most accurate compilations of playlists from blues radio programmers throughout the world”. A huge thanks to all the DJs and fans who have made this happen.

Buddy Guy and Kirsten Thien Marquis at the Birchmere

Buddy Guy and Kirsten Thien Marquis at the Birchmere

Any fan of the Blues will understand how excited I have been for this show. Well, it outshined all my expectations. Leading up to the show, I found myself thinking a lot about the history of Rock ‘n Roll, the men and women who were instrumental in creating Rock ‘n Roll itself, and how important this music has actually been to the history and pride America. “It’s only Rock ‘n Roll, but I like it!”

Alexandria, VA ~ October 20, 2010 ~ Opening for Buddy Guy

October 6th, 2010

Back in July, during the “Red, Blonde and Blues” tour a member of the staff at the legendary Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia saw Kirsten performing with her band in Annapolis, MD. After 5 years touring together, the band and Kirsten’s show impressed this particular audience member so much that he invited Kirsten to submit a booking package through him to the Birchmere for consideration for an opening slot. In the course of conversation that night, Kirsten mentioned her admiration of Blues Legend Buddy Guy.
